Cluster Database

The included cluster database contains the connection parameters for over 300 Internet telnet DX clusters. Connection is simple. Just tap on the cluster you wish to connect to. DX Spot automates the connection and logs on to the selected cluster. Once a logon is successful, the DX Spot table is displayed.

The DX cluster database is sorted alphabetically by DXCC country name. Each table row contains an Icon that represents the cluster type, the cluster call sign, connection URL and port. Supported cluster types are DX Spider, AR and CC clusters. Tap a table row in order to select the cluster and begin the connection / logon process. For the connection and logon to succeed you must have set your call sign and optional logon password. Refer to Getting Started for additional information.

Select the Clusters button at the top of the display. Scroll down the list then tap the row containing the cluster you wish to connect to. DxSpot automatically switches to the Telnet display during the connection process. Once connected and logged on, DxSpot automatically switches to the DX tab and displays the current DX.

Creating a custom connection:

The Cluster database cannot be directly altered. If you need to update or add a cluster, then you have to create a custom entry.

From the Favorites display, tap the button in the upper left hand corner. A new cluster row is added at the end of the Custom section. Tap the button to edit cluster parameters. After setting the custom information, return to the cluster display then tap the cluster row to connect. Note a cluster entry can be copied from the favorites section and placed into the custom area.

Editing the Favorites/Custom list:

To delete a single entry from either list, swipe left on the cluster row. A red delete button is displayed to confirm deletion. Tap the button to remove the entry. To cancel the delete operation, just tap anywhere else on the screen.

Additional editing is accomplished when you tap the Edit button in the upper right hand corner. To delete an entry tap the indicator then tap the button. To cancel a delete operation, just tap anywhere else on the screen.

A cluster entry can be repositioned by sliding the move row indicators, on the right of the row, to the new position. Entries can be moved from the Favorites list into the Custom list. When an entry is in the Custom list you can modify the cluster data.

Tap the Done button in the upper right corner to exit editing.
